Warranty & Disclaimer

IMS Printing & Signs builds every project to a high standard and stands behind our workmanship. Because our products range from permanent illuminated signage to short-life digital print, warranty coverage varies by product type. This document defines the limited warranty we provide, the products and services we do not warrant, and the conditions that apply to all work.

All warranty periods begin on the date of installation, or the date of delivery or customer pickup for products not installed by IMS.

01. What the Limited Warranty Covers

For the products and periods listed above, IMS Printing & Signs warrants that the product will be free from defects in IMS fabrication and installation workmanship under normal use and normal environmental conditions. Our sole obligation under this warranty is, at our option, to repair the product, replace the defective component, or issue a credit not to exceed the original purchase price of the affected item. Removal, re-installation, crane, lift, and travel charges are covered only where the defect is confirmed to be the result of IMS workmanship.

02. Products and Services Not Warranted

Due to the nature of digital printing, printed vinyl, applied graphics, and short-life display products, the following products and services are sold as-is and carry no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose:

• Banners of all types, including vinyl, mesh, fabric, pole, and banner stand graphics
• Large format printing, wall murals, floor graphics, window and wall graphics, and retail graphics
• Small format printing, business printing, stickers, labels, decals, and contour cut graphics
• UV flatbed printing and printed rigid substrates
• Real estate signs and real estate post & panel signs
• Barricade graphics, yard signs, political campaign signs, cheer signs, and other temporary signage
• Trade show displays, portable displays, table covers, and event tents
• Apparel, spirit wear, custom floor mats, promotional merchandise, and vehicle magnets
• Vinyl lettering, cut vinyl, and non-wrap vehicle lettering and decals
• Design services, artwork, layout, surveys, permitting, e-commerce services, and consultation
• Sign service, repair, maintenance, and removal work performed on existing or third-party signage

Products supplied by IMS but manufactured by others carry only the warranty offered by the original manufacturer, if any, which IMS will pass through to the customer where transferable.

03. General Exclusions

The limited warranty above does not apply to, and IMS is not responsible for, damage or failure resulting from any of the following:

• Weather and acts of nature, including hail, wind, snow, ice, lightning, flooding, and freeze-thaw cycling
• Ultraviolet exposure, fading, chalking, color shift, and normal wear from Colorado sun and altitude
• Vandalism, graffiti, theft, accident, collision, fire, or impact
• Improper cleaning, pressure washing, abrasive cleaners, solvents, or automated car washes
• Alteration, relocation, re-installation, or service performed by anyone other than IMS
• Building movement, structural failure, water intrusion, or defects in the mounting surface or substrate
• Customer-supplied artwork, materials, substrates, hardware, or components
• Electrical service issues including power surges, improper voltage, faulty building wiring, and timers or photocells not supplied by IMS
• Use of the product outside its intended application, or installation in a location subject to unusual stress

04. Vehicle Wrap Conditions

Vinyl adhesion depends on the condition of the vehicle surface. IMS does not warrant adhesion over aftermarket or repainted panels, body filler, rust, chips, peeling clear coat, or previously wrapped surfaces. Deep recesses, rivets, corrugations, moldings, seams, door jambs, and bumper covers are high-stress areas where lifting can occur and are excluded from coverage. Vehicles must not be washed for 72 hours after installation, and hand washing is required thereafter. IMS is not responsible for paint, clear coat, or vinyl damage occurring during graphics removal, or for the condition of the surface revealed after removal.

05. Illuminated Sign Components

LED modules, power supplies, transformers, ballasts, timers, and photocells carry the original manufacturer’s warranty, which IMS will pass through to the customer. Labor to diagnose, remove, or replace these components after the IMS workmanship period is billable at our standard service rates. The customer is responsible for providing and maintaining properly grounded electrical service to the sign location.

06. Color, Print, and Material Variation

IMS cannot guarantee exact color matching between production runs, print methods, substrates, or between printed and painted, vinyl, or fabricated elements. Digital print color is reproduced within commercially acceptable tolerances. Variation in print, material, and finish is inherent to the process and is not considered a defect. Color and material samples and proofs are representative only.

07. Permits, Codes, and Approvals

Where IMS provides survey and permitting services, we make every effort to design to applicable municipal code. IMS does not warrant permit approval, permit timelines, landlord or HOA approval, or that a sign will be approved as designed. The customer remains responsible for lease compliance, landlord and property management approval, and any code changes occurring after installation. Permit, engineering, variance, and resubmittal fees are the customer’s responsibility.

08. Copyright, Trademark, and Releases

The customer represents and warrants that they own, or hold written permission to reproduce, all artwork, logos, photographs, illustrations, fonts, characters, and marks submitted to IMS for production.

IMS Printing & Signs will not print, reproduce, or fabricate copyrighted or trademarked material without a written release from the owner of the work. This includes, but is not limited to, licensed logos and brand marks, stock and professional photography, illustrations and clip art obtained online, sports and entertainment properties, cartoon and media characters, published artwork, and licensed fonts and typefaces.

A written release, license, or letter of authorization from the rights holder must be provided to IMS before production begins. IMS reserves the right to request documentation at any time, and to delay, decline, or cancel any order where ownership or permission cannot be verified. Orders held for this reason are not eligible for expedited or on-time delivery commitments.

The customer agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold IMS Printing & Signs harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense, including attorney fees, arising from the reproduction of customer-supplied artwork, including claims of copyright infringement, trademark infringement, and violation of a right of publicity or privacy.

Original artwork, layouts, design concepts, and production files created by IMS remain the property of IMS Printing & Signs until paid for in full and released in writing. Unless the customer requests otherwise in writing, IMS may photograph completed work for use in our portfolio and marketing.

09. Care and Maintenance

The customer is responsible for routine inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of all products. Signage should be cleaned with mild soap and water only. Failure to maintain the product, or to report a defect promptly upon discovery, voids this warranty.

10. Making a Warranty Claim

Warranty claims must be submitted in writing to orders@imscolorado.com within the applicable warranty period and within fifteen (15) days of discovering the defect. Please include the invoice or job number, a description of the issue, and photographs. IMS must be given reasonable access to inspect the product before any repair is attempted. Repairs made by others without prior written authorization from IMS are not reimbursable and void this warranty. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable. All invoices must be paid in full for warranty coverage to apply.

11. Underground Utilities Disclaimer

IMS Printing & Signs contacts Colorado 811 for utility locates before any digging or excavation. Colorado 811 marks public utility lines only. It does not locate private lines, including low-voltage wiring (landscape lighting, data, security, and similar systems) and irrigation lines. IMS will take reasonable care to avoid private lines during installation, but cannot guarantee their location or protection. IMS Printing & Signs is not responsible for repairs or costs resulting from damage to unmarked private low-voltage or irrigation lines. Customers are encouraged to mark or disclose the location of any private lines before work begins.

12. Limitation of Liability

The remedies stated in this document are the customer’s sole and exclusive remedies. IMS Printing & Signs shall not be liable for incidental, indirect, special, or consequential damages of any kind, including lost profits, lost business, downtime, vehicle downtime, removal or reinstallation costs not authorized in advance, or damage to property. In no event shall IMS liability exceed the original purchase price of the specific item giving rise to the claim. Except as expressly stated in this document, IMS makes no warranties, express or implied.
