Business Signs & Channel Letters in Littleton and the Denver Metro
IMS Printing & Signs is a full-service sign company based in Littleton, Colorado, building custom interior and exterior signs for businesses across the Denver metro since 2003. We handle every step in-house — site survey, design, municipal permitting, fabrication, and professional installation — so you work with one team from concept to the day your sign lights up.
Whether you're opening your first storefront, rebranding a corporate campus, or managing signage for an entire shopping center, we build signs engineered for Colorado weather and designed to make your business impossible to miss.
Types of Business Signs We Build
Channel Letters
Individually fabricated, dimensional letters — the gold standard for storefront and building signage. We build front-lit LED channel letters, reverse pan (halo-lit) letters, open-face letters with exposed marquee bulbs, and trimless channel letters for a clean, modern look. Our channel letter work includes projects for Rocket Lab, Airbus, Steelcase, and dozens of Denver-area restaurants, gyms, breweries, and retailers.
Monument Signs
Ground-level signs at your property entrance that give your business a permanent, established presence. Available in masonry, aluminum, and high-density foam construction, illuminated or non-illuminated.
Cabinet Signs
Internally lit LED sign cabinets with durable polycarbonate or acrylic faces — a cost-effective, high-visibility option for storefronts and pole structures.
Acrylic Push-Through Signs
Premium illuminated signs where the lettering literally pushes through a solid panel, glowing day and night — like the sign we built for the Town of Castle Rock Police Department.
Dimensional and Fabricated Metal Letters
Non-illuminated cut or fabricated letters in aluminum, acrylic, and specialty finishes, including waterjet-cut and corten-finish work, for lobbies, building facades, and monument structures.
Blade Signs, Post and Panel Signs, and Directional Signage
Projecting blade signs for pedestrian visibility, aluminum post-and-panel systems for properties and communities, and complete wayfinding packages.
Interior Signage
Lobby logo signs, ADA-compliant room signs with braille, wall graphics, and dimensional displays that carry your brand inside the building.
Our Process: From Concept to Installation
- Consultation and site survey. We visit your location, take measurements and photos, and check landlord sign criteria and municipal code so the design we propose can actually be approved and built.
- Design and proofs. Our in-house designers produce scaled renderings of your sign on your actual building, so you see exactly what you're getting before fabrication begins.
- Permitting. Sign permits are required by nearly every Denver-metro municipality. We prepare engineering drawings and handle the permit application with your city or county — Littleton, Castle Rock, Lone Tree, Highlands Ranch, Centennial, Denver, and beyond.
- Fabrication. Your sign is built with commercial-grade materials, UL-listed LED components, and finishes rated for Colorado sun, snow, and wind.
- Installation. Our installation crews handle everything from wall-mounted letters to high-elevation lift work and electrical hookup. We also service, repair, and remove existing signs.
Typical timeline from approved design to installed sign is 3–5 weeks, depending on permitting and project complexity.
Who We Work With
We serve retail stores, restaurants, and breweries; property management firms, shopping centers, and apartment communities; corporate offices and industrial facilities; schools, churches, museums, and municipalities. Our recent work includes signage programs for the Town of Castle Rock, Park Meadows-area retailers, and businesses from Westminster to Castle Rock.
Why Choose IMS Printing & Signs?
- One vendor, start to finish. Survey, design, permitting, fabrication, and installation under one roof — no finger-pointing between a designer, a fabricator, and an installer.
- Family-owned and local since 2003. We're based in Littleton at 12425 Mead Way, and our reputation is built on Denver-metro projects you can drive past today.
- Built for Colorado. Materials and engineering selected for high UV, hail, wind, and temperature swings.
- Beyond the sign. Because we're also a full printing and graphics shop, we can carry your brand from the building sign to vehicle wraps, window graphics, banners, and apparel.

Frequently Asked Questions About Business Signs
How much does a business sign cost?
Pricing depends on size, materials, illumination, and installation requirements. As a general guide, LED channel letter sets typically range from $2,000 to $10,000, monument signs from $4,000 to $20,000, and non-illuminated dimensional letters from $250 to $3,000. Every project receives an itemized quote — call (720) 258-1959 or use our quote form.
Do I need a permit for a business sign in Colorado?
Almost always, yes. Nearly every Denver-metro municipality requires a permit for permanent exterior signage, and illuminated signs typically also require an electrical permit. Requirements vary by city and zoning district. IMS handles the entire permitting process for you, including engineering drawings and the application to your city or county.
How long does it take to get a sign made and installed?
A typical channel letter or monument sign project takes 3–5 weeks from approved design to installation. Permitting is usually the longest variable — some municipalities approve in days, others take several weeks. We'll give you a realistic timeline with your quote.
What's the difference between front-lit and halo-lit channel letters?
Front-lit channel letters have translucent acrylic faces that glow directly — bright, bold, and highly readable. Halo-lit (reverse pan) letters have solid metal faces and project light backward onto the wall, creating a glowing outline — a more upscale, architectural look. We build both, and our designers can show you renderings of each style on your building.
Do you install signs, or just make them?
We do both. IMS has in-house installation crews that handle wall-mounted signs, monument signs, high-elevation lift work, and electrical hookup for illuminated signage. We also service, repair, and remove existing signs.
What areas do you serve?
We're based in Littleton, Colorado, and serve the entire Denver metro, including Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, Lone Tree, Centennial, Englewood, Parker, Aurora, and Denver. For multi-location businesses, we also produce and ship signage nationwide.
My landlord has sign criteria. Can you work with that?
Yes — this is routine for us. Most shopping centers and commercial landlords publish sign criteria covering size, style, and illumination. We review your landlord's criteria during the site survey and design within those rules, and we regularly work directly with property managers, including major centers like Park Meadows.
Do you make ADA-compliant interior signs?
Yes. We fabricate ADA signage with tactile lettering and Grade 2 braille that meets federal accessibility requirements for restrooms, room identification, and wayfinding. See our ADA Signage page for details.
